Understanding HIDE Product Categories

While HIDE Kits are categorised on our website as Skimmer Lids, Access Covers, Utility Covers, or Drain Covers, it's important to understand that all HIDE Covers are access covers at their core—designed to provide safe, seamless access to what lies beneath.

For example, our popular Skimmer Lid Kits (Product Codes HSL306 and HSL412) are perfectly suited to standard swimming pool skimmer boxes. However, they are not limited to that purpose. These same covers can be used anywhere in your landscape where a compact, discreet access point is needed—making them ideal for irrigation points, lighting junctions, or inspection ports.

Similarly, Drain Covers (Product Code HDC314) with a 5mm gap around the circumference of the lid for water flow, provides both aesthetic appeal and easy access to the drainage pipe for cleaning and maintenance. And our Utility Covers (HAC506 and HAC656) are simply larger format access covers—ideal for service pits, junction boxes or concealed storage.

In short:

The product names reflect common use cases and sizing standards, not limitations. You’re free to select the HIDE Cover size and depth that best suits your project’s needs—regardless of how it’s labelled.
