2. Scope & Acceptance
These Terms govern every distance-sale contract concluded through this Shopify store. By ordering you accept them. Mandatory consumer rights prevail over any conflicting term.

3. Products
HIDE supplies a stainless-steel kit only; the final inlay (tile, stone, concrete, etc.) is supplied and installed on-site by the contractor. Improper installation, failure to earth/bond metal components, or exposing lids to acid/chemical wash voids the commercial warranty.

4. Ordering & Contract Formation
A contract is formed only when we email an order-confirmation. We may refuse or cancel orders (e.g. stock shortage, pricing error) and will refund any payment taken.

5. Prices, VAT & Payment

• Currency & VAT – Prices are shown in euros and include VAT where required under the EU One-Stop-Shop (OSS/IOSS) rules.
• Automatic tax calculation – VAT rates are calculated in real-time at checkout using Quaderno – Tax & VAT Automation, which determines the correct rate based on product type and customer location.
• Payment – Payment methods displayed at checkout are charged immediately.
• Shipping & duties – Delivery charges and any import duties (e.g. Norway, Switzerland) are shown before you pay.
  

6. Delivery, risk & title
Dispatch from our EU warehouse normally occurs within 2 business days. Risk passes on delivery; title passes once all sums due are paid.

7. Statutory right of withdrawal (EU/EEA & UK consumers)

1. How to cancel – Email admin@skimmerlids.com.au or use the model form in § 13.
   
2. Where to return –
   
   • If you bought through an authorised HIDE distributor or retailer, return the goods to that place of purchase.
   
   • If you bought directly from this online store, return them to our EU fulfilment centre (address in point 1).
   
   
3. Distributor obligation – Every authorised HIDE distributor must honour this statutory right, provided the goods are undamaged, complete and in “as-new” resalable condition and the return is made within the 14-day period.
4. Consumer obligations – You must send the goods back within 14 days of cancelling and bear the direct return cost unless the item is faulty.
5. Refunds – We (or the distributor) will refund the product price and the cheapest outbound shipping option within 14 days of receiving the goods or proof of postage.

8. Legal guarantee & HIDE commercial warranty

• EU legal guarantee – Goods must conform for 2 years from delivery; you may request repair, replacement or refund.
• HIDE warranty – 10-year stainless steel product commercial warranty applies, subject to correct installation, care and maintenance. This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights.

9. Liability

Nothing limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded under consumer law. For business customers (non-consumers) our liability is limited to the contract price and excludes indirect loss.

10. Data protection & cookies

Personal data is processed in accordance with the HIDE Privacy Policy (GDPR compliant). Essential cookies enable basket and security functions; analytics/marketing cookies are used only with consent.

11. Governing law & disputes

Contracts with EU consumers are governed by Irish law; you may sue in your local EU court. The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/odr. Contracts with UK consumers are governed by English law, with local jurisdiction preserved.
